Merchant Plus User Review
By Wilson Peterson

I definitely never thought about going into business for myself when I was a kid, never mind using a service like Merchant Plus to do transactions online. Like most, I wanted to be a fireman, policeman, and an astronaut all at once. When I found out I had a knack for designing web logos, those dreams were out of the window. So many people like starting their own business, and they all want something that speaks to who they are and what they do – and that's where I come in. I carefully design colorful and distinct logos via the web, and they sell for hundreds a pop.

I didn't need to build a website or anything like that at first. I signed on with a few freelancing websites and started designing logos for various freelancers who wanted to stand out with eye-popping originality. It was an absolutely huge market, but I found I was being underbid by almost everyone. So, to stand out, I created my own website where I could show off my previous work and let people understand that $400 for a logo that takes 2 days to create is the best price they're getting.

I understood a lot about web business by that point, so I knew I needed a way to accept payments. The one thing about freelancing websites that makes them popular is they accept multiple forms of payment. I hooked up with Merchant Plus and let them handle my payment solutions. They claim to be the Internet's leading provider of merchant services, i.e. payment solutions such as credit cards, checks, mailed payments, and on-location credit swiping. And after dealing with them for 3 years now, I have to say I agree.

First off, it was an easy 1-2-3 process like they promised. I visited their website, talked to their personalized customer support team about what my options were, and they handled setting up the eCommerce options for me. All I had to do was provide a few simple clicks from my own website and the payment situation was taken care of.

I'm computer savvy – I went to college to be so – so it's no big deal if something goes wrong and I have to manually adjust a few things. But the fact that Merchant Plus handles everything is a huge bonus. Knowing that they're on the job 24/7 allows me to traffic my site and design my logos. As a wise man once said when told he would no longer have to worry about money: "That's good; one less thing".

Merchant Plus has terminals to use if you need them for on-site businesses; they also deal with mail orders and checks. It's an all-inclusive package when you choose Merchant Plus. Their prices stack up brilliantly against accepted industry standards. Their Visa/MasterCard fee is 2.15%, much lower than the industry. Merchant Plus has a monthly fee of $19.95, a 25-cent transaction fee, and free McAfee support, setup, application fees and annual fees.

You can order over the phone, the net, on-location, and by mail, making Merchant Plus one of the most diverse payment solution companies around. My site accepts AMEX, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and even checks and mailed payments. I have everything covered for my many clients, and Merchant Plus has me covered.
